This luscious silver fox fur pelt stole is a perfect accessory to elevate your vintage outfit, whether a 20s flapper dress, a 40s suit or ?? Pelt stoles use the entire furred animal, from the nose to the tip of the tail, plus legs. This stole uses two foxes, joined at the heads, between eyes and ears. The glass eyes are blue.

FUR/OTHER MATERIALS: Silver fox fur pelts, with soft thick underfur and long lustrous guard hairs. The tips of the tails are white, as is a small area of underbelly.

SIZE:
Each pelt measures 49" from tip of nose to tip of tail, and up to 6" wide.

TAGS: No maker's tag. One of the inner straps does have the original owner's monogram - LB.

CLOSURES/ADJUSTORS: N/A, but the inner front paws of the two pelts snap together. There is a black grosgrain ribbon connecting the two bodies between head and front legs - I think it is intended to prevent excess stress on the head connection. There is also a black corded loop at the head connection - not sure how that might be used. And lastly, two sets of satin ribbon loops along the body, presumably to slip your arms through.

CONDITION: A previous owner did some stitching on one of the rear feet with black thread - see closeup. That foot has three claws instead of the 4 on the other feet, so it seems likely that one of the toes became damaged and was removed. No other issues noted.

I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.

For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.

For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.

Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.

The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.

If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
