50s Women's Sun Dress Cold Shoulder Ruffle Full Skirt Vintage Abtract Print Medium VFG
- Description
This vintage 1950s sundress is so pretty, and with such unusual details! The fitted bodice is attached at the top to a horizontal band that wraps around the upper arms. The band has a deep ruffle that also encircles the bodice and upper arms. Narrow straps go over the shoulders. The full gathered skirt ends in a deep ruffle at the bottom. The dress has a long self-fabric sash that ties around the waist.

FABRIC/COLORS: Medium weight, cottony with a slight silkiness - based on fiber burn test, I think it's rayon or a rayon/cotton blend. The artsy abstract print has a geometric feel, with cross hatching and faux paint streaks in vibrant rose pink, gray and white against a black background.
TAGS: No tags although I think it's professionally sewn.
CLOSURES: An inset 6.5" (short!) metal sideseam zipper
CONDITION: I found two tiny frays, one on the front of the bodice and one on the back, both a little above the waist - see closeup to see the slightly larger front one. The nature of the print makes them rather subtle, I think. No other issues noted.
