Antique Suede Concealed Money Belt Pouch Travel Wallet Vintage 20s O'Connor Moffat VFG
This concealed money belt would be just the thing for a gentleman's overseas tour! It most likely dates to the 1920s or 1930s. It is a flat pouch that hangs from an adjustable cloth waist belt. The rounded flap has snaps, and opens to give access to inner compartments - three little ones behind a smaller flap that also snaps, as well as another two pairs of two below.

MATERIALS/COLORS: The exterior is a dark brownish gray in suede so soft that I think it is probably deerskin. The front inner pouch is lighter gray moire fabric, while the inner back buttery yellow suede - also very soft, and also may be deerskin.
TAGS: The pouch itself does has no labels, although there is some embossing on the inner snap. The waist strap still has part of the original pasteboard tag attached from the store where it was sold - O'Connor, Moffat, & Co. San Francisco. Marked in pencil is TK3, 89.
CLOSURES: The pouch's front flap closes with two enameled snaps, while the inner flap uses a smaller enameled snap. The belt is woven twill with white metal buckle.
CONDITION: The moire fabric is shredding in several places. And even though it still has tag attached, the inner light yellow suede is a bit discolored, most noticeably around the snap opening, presumably from fingers exploring and admiring.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
