70s Goddess Gown Long Chiffon Dress Draped Bodice Women's Modest M VFG
This is such a flattering dress! There is an inner layer and a floaty outer layer. The inner layer bodice is fitted with darts and the front bodice is a cross between an empire waist and a basque waist, starting at the natural waist on the sides and rising up into a gentle vee at the center. The outer layer uses draped and folded chiffon from the shoulder seams down, framing the vee-neckline, and crossing in front before continuing on to form a cummerbund style waistband that continues around to the back. The long skirt has a smooth panel in front, but is otherwise gently gathered, and moves beautifully, Lightly puffed sleeves are sheer and three quarter length.

FABRIC/COLORS: Raspberry red chiffon over matching acetate-type fabric. Based on a fiber burn test, the chiffon is definitely synthetic, probably poly.

CLOSURES: The dress closes with a long nylon zipper in back.
CONDITION: The elastic holding the sleeve bottom was tired, which you can see in the some of the photos. I have replaced it. There are subtle perspiration rings under the arms - see closeup. A few dark marks along the hem - see closeup, and a tiny tear that was stitched by a former owner., as well as a single snag noted. No other issues seen.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
