This adorable halter maxidress can't decide whether it is going to a casual prom or a picnic! Either way, it is very cute. The u-neck bodice is fitted with darts, and wraps around the neck - it inserts into a wide waistband. The column skirt gently gathers into the waist - it has an 11" slit in back for ease in walking or dancing. The bodice and both sides of the waistband are edged with  a narrow scalloped cottony lace, and the skirt is covered in machine embroidered cottony daisies. The daisies get larger and closer together near the bottom of the skirt, and the very bottom is embroidered in a large version of the scalloped lace trim.

SIZE: Labeled size 13. The nature of the halter bodice makes bust measurement impossible - it should accommodate most.
Waist - 27" (68.5 cm)
Hips - 46" (117 cm)
Skirt length: 41" (104 cm)
Sweep: 44" (112 cm)

FABRIC/COLORS: The empire bodice is white, with the wide waistband and skirt done in a powder blue & white gingham. Both fabrics are knit, and definitely synthetic, fiber burn test suggests nylon. The bodice is fully lined in a white acetate-type fabric.

TAGS: Vicky Vaughn Junior, made in USA.

CLOSURES: The dress closes with a nylon back zipper with hook and eye at the top. The halter fastens with two buttons, meaning you can make some adjustment if needed.

CONDITION: The underarms are very faintly yellowed, L > R - see closeup of left side.

I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.

For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.

For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.

Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.

The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.

If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
