60s 70s Vintage Maxi Dress Peasant Over The Top Double Knit M
An amazing maxi dress, styled as a peasant look, but in a knit print that recalls the iconic colors of 1960s kitchens - Burnt Orangs, Harvest Gold, and Avocado Green. The dress has a fitted long sleeve bodice with a scoop neckline and a wide inset waist. The long skirt is gently gathered into the waist.
SIZE: No size label. The fabric is stretchy - measured flat. There is a 2" hem.

FABRIC/COLORS: The woven pattern is eye popping. The primary color is the burnt orange, used for the bodice, while the skirt is woven in wide horizontal stripes of orange and gold. The avocado green is used more sparingly, in thin undulating geometric lines over all. The green color does not appear on the backside of the fabric although you can see ghostly indications of where they are on the front. I consulted some of my colleagues at the Vintage Fashion Guild who are particularly skilled with fabric weaves - the final consensus was that it is a double-knit jacquard with integrated rib sections, made on a double-bed knitting machine. Based on a fiber burn test, I believe this is nylon. Care tags says machine wash, drip dry.
TAGS: No maker's tag, only a care tag.
CLOSURES: A long metal zipper up the back.
CONDITION: Excellent. No stains, holes, tears, picks or other issues noted.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
