50s Vintage Men's Pajamas Set Shirt Pants Brown Plaid Striped PJs M/L Weldon VFG
This two piece vintage set was originally sold as pajamas in the 1950s. A modern guy would probably use the pieces separately as a great daytime shirt with khakis or jeans and easy comfort pants with just about any top! The shirt is fairly loose to the body, with a flyout collar and gently vee-shaped wrist cuffs. The easy-fit pants are elasticized in back, and have stitched down faux cuffs. All construction seams are flat felled, similar to jeans, so there is no loose edge to fray.

FABRIC/COLORS: I love this light weight novelty weave plaid, using beige and sandstone and umber brown with a narrow stripe of variegated thickness cream-to-black that adds a bit of textural interest. Labeled as a dacron/cotton blend.
TAGS: Master Needles by Weldon
CLOSURES: The shirt closes with three large MOP buttons with a matching smaller button a little below the collar. The pants have a button front fly, and have buttoned tabs at the side seams to adjust fit.
CONDITION: There is some very minor pilling at the neckline and slight yellowish discoloration on some of the inner facing (not seen when worn). No other issues noted.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
