40s Vintage Women's Jacket Deco Details Navy Blue Pinstripe L/XL VFG Ber-Sell Original
Deceptively simple with clean deco lines, enhanced by the subtle pinstripe! Gently fitted with princess style seaming that goes geometric above the bust, including a stylized wing that gives the illusion of a squared off padded shoulder without any pads. Collarless around the neck with dropped notched lapels. Horizontal welted hand warmer pockets.
SIZE: No size label. I wear a modern size 12 and the jacket feels a little oversized to me.

FABRIC/COLORS: Lightweight wool suiting, dark navy blue with a very narrow white pinstripe. Lined in black satin.
TAG: Ber-Sell Original Modes - The logo monogram is B & W though. An additional tag has a seal for "This article Berlou moth proofed, 5 year guarantee". I found some archived sources mentioning the Berlou method dating back to the mid 1930s.
CLOSURES: Two self fabric ringed buttons with bound buttonholes.
CONDITION: No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted on the outer jacket. There is some reddish color turn to the lining under the arms (no odor). I have repaired a section of lining hem that had come loose.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
