20s Flapper Dress Floral Silk Chiffon Garden Party Capelet Collar Drop Waist Black VFG
A lovely floaty and feminine dress, perfect for a garden party or other special occasion! This 1920s vintage dress has the classic 20s look - lightly fitted body with dropped waist. The bodice features a sheer floral capelet collar, also known as a bertha collar, longer in back and slit open there. The sheer floral chiffon is also used for the skirt, with six rounded-top godets. The dress lining is finished at the hem with a 4" border of the floral chiffon
SIZE: No size label. As you consider the measurements, keep in mind that you have to be able to get this on over your head - that makes it an extra small primarily to me, since there is no stretch and this is chiffon.

CLOSURES: N/A, this dress slips on over the head
CONDITION: A few very tiny flaws. The six rounded top godets each have 2 sort-of corners at the top - three of the 12 show tiny areas of fray - see closeup of largest one. I also found three tiny area on the hem where the picot stitching has frayed - see closeup. A former owner made alterations, taking the side seams in a bit. No other issues noted.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
