40s Blouse Top Fuschia Pink & Black Novelty Print Vintage Small to Medium VFG

This is such a great top! The contrast between the print body and solid trim, along the ruched panels on either side of the front are both flattering and eye catching. Pads are used to extend the line of the sleeve top, as opposed to being under the shoulder seams themselves. The horizontal faux pocket flap on the left chest reminds me of a feminine version of medals, with the pink plastic floral bar, setting off dangling pink leaves and a swag of black fabric below

FABRIC/COLORS: The print fabric is a slick jersey knit, featuring floral posies and scattered flowers in black against a bright fuschia background. The black fabric is woven and crepe-like. A fiber burn test suggests that the jersey is synthetic, probably acrylic, and the crepe a rayon/acetate blend.

TAGS: A partial tag found in a side seam - see closeup - looks like lot/style # information.

CLOSURES: The blouse closes with five flat buttons, covered in the black crepe fabric.

CONDITION: The decorative floral bar sewn onto the left chest flap is showing some dark color underneath the lighter pink surface - see close up. Above the floral bar, you can also see a small dark spottiness - the dark areas on the floral bar feel very slightly sticky to the touch, and I believe the fabric mark is due to contact - I recommend storing the blouse with tissue around the plastic bar to prevent further issues.
