$ 69.00 Sale Save

This vintage late 1950s to early 1960s dress is adorable - pink and polka dots! You can wear it as a dress or pair the top with white capris or pencil skirt. Pleated skirt is attached to a fitted camisole-type bodice. A fitted but more structured “popover” top has short sleeves, a banded boatneck collar, and shallow but functional flap pockets at the bottom.

FABRIC/COLORS: Lightweight slightly slubbed silk in vibrant carnation pink with white polka dots. The underbodice is acetate, also pink – the overblouse top is lined with the same acetate.

TAG: Suzy Perette, New York.

CLOSURES: The dress has a metal zipper down the back, and the top has its own back metal zipper.

CONDITION: The under-camisole has some mild seam stress at the darts and minor discoloration at the shoulders, but since it’s not designed to be seen, not an issue. There is some smudgy discoloration on the inner neckline of the back of the overblouse on the wearer's left, along with a small stain at the corner of the label - see closeup. None of this is seen during wear. I don't see any other issues.

I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.

For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.

For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.

Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.

The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.

If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
