60s Men's Suit Jacket Vintage Sharkskin Edwardian Inspired Charcoal Gray Medium VFG
This vintage 1960s jacket is a sleek blend of early 60s mad Men and later 60s Edwardian style Mod. The shoulders are lightly padded, notched lapels are narrow. The body of the jacket is long and lean, gently fitted and about fingertip length. It has the usual bound left chest pocket and bound hand warmer pockets with modest flaps. There is a center vent in back. The jacket has the partial upper back lining that was fairly typical for the era, along with inner chest pockets.

FABRIC/COLORS: The fabric is fairly lightweight, and most likely a wool blend - there are no raw edges to snip for a fiber burn test. It is charcoal gray with a bit of a sharkskin glimmer, crisp with good body. The lining is a black acetate type fabric.
TAGS: Hart, Schaffner & Marx, Chicago New York. The union tag inside the right inner pocket is the ACWA one used from 1949 to 1968.
CLOSURES: Three button closure, with dark gray plastic buttons. The sleeve cuff vents each have three smaller matching buttons.
CONDITION:No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
