50s Day Dress Swing Skirt 60s Earth Colors Print Women's Vintage Large VFG
This vintage dress is perfect for those in-between days, when you want something light in weight but not light in tone. It dates to the late 1950s into early 1960s. The scoop neck bodice is gently fitted with darting, meeting a swingy four-gored skirt at the waist. The short raglan sleeves and the yoked neckline are constructed using several layers of fabric, giving more substance and structural support.

FABRIC/COLORS: A complex and deep print - I see the shapes of different kind of tropical leaves and ferns, done in several shades of brown and orange against an abstract background of greens. The fabric is lightweight woven - most likely cotton based on a fiber burn test.
TAGS: No tags. I believe this was probably custom made, as a good skill level.
CLOSURES: The dress closes with a side seam metal zipper. It comes with a self fabric belt with slide-style buckle. It is shown in some photos with an orange suede belt from my closet - not included with purchase.
CONDITION: I have repaired a few small sections of open seam.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
