30s Women's Vintage Kimono Women's Lurex Jacket Metallic Pekinese Dogs Small-Large VFG
A gorgeous vintage kimono, with a touch of whimsical glitz! Classic kimono styling. The upper bodice and sleeves are lined in tissue silk. The kimono appears to me to be completely hand sewn, and nicely done. The black crepe fabric is adorned with pekinese dogs wearing ruffled collars - sitting, standing, and playing with an ornate over-sized ball. The images are woven in three shades of metallic thread. There are three different images, repeated.
SIZE: No size label. Kimonos tend to be nearly One Size Fits All. I wear a modern size 12, and the fit is comfortable, with the front able to be wrapped about 2 inches. The kimono has not been pinned on the mannequin.

FABRIC/COLORS: Silky feeling black crepe with gold, silver and copper colored metallic threads. White lining is very tissue weight, I believe it's silk
TAGS: No tags at all
CLOSURES: Kimonos are typically worn open, and there are no buttons or other obvious closures on the outside. However, there is a small self-fabric loop at waist level sewn into the edge of the facing on each side, could be used with a frog or perhaps a cord to hold the kimono closed.
CONDITION: Very good. I found a single pinhole adjacent to the left side seam near the waist when I held the kimono up to a bright light and inspected closely. There are a few small areas of light tannish staining to the white lining and there are two small holes in the lining with the staining on the right inner front - see close-up. I repaired some open shoulder seams by hand stitching. No other issues seen.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
