Women's Vintage 50s Day Dress Red Gray Plaid Cotton w Sash Small to Medium VFG
A feminine yet totally practical vintage 1950s day dress! Fitted bodice with short sleeves, wide scoop neck in front, vee in back. Full skirt pleated at the waist. Separate 4" wide self fabric sash to tie at the waist however you like.

FABRIC/COLORS: Novelty weave plaid using red, black and white, for varying shades of gray and red, with an ombre lattice pattern woven into some of the gray striped areas - see closeup. I believe this is cotton, based on a fiber burn test.
TAGS: No tags at all. Dress may be custom sewn
CLOSURES: Metal zipper down the back
CONDITION: No stains, holes or tears seen. A previous owner hand stitched a seam repair on one side of the zipper placket at the waist. It's very wearable as-is, but you may want to reinforce it with machine stitching for added strength.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
