80s Sun Dress Women's Tiered Skirt Ruffled Blue White Red Block Print Vintage Festival Small VFG
This is a great vintage sundress, especially if you want to go braless, and yet like the idea of a bit of extra oomph up top. The bodice has a vee neck that forms the wide straps in front. The midline part of the bra cups are trimmed with 4 rows of double ruffles. Below the bust, the dress is fitted to the torso with elasticized shirring all the way around. The full skirt has 3 tiers.
SIZE: No size label. Bust and waist measurements given unstretched - moderately stretched. Another note: the shoulder straps have an extra 4" for lengthening in back if you want them longer.

FABRIC/COLORS: The print is an interesting combination of sort-of-floral, geometric and abstract shapes. Dark red and dark blue against a white background. The bust ruffles are edged in dark red. Fabric is cotton.
TAGS: No tags. The words "Baa Mei Sheiallah" are part of the print in large block letter. In the selvage, are the words "guaranteed wax block print", "veritable wax block print", and "hitarget 1320525".
CLOSURES: N/A, the dress pulls on over the head
CONDITION: No stains, holes or tears. I don't think this dress has ever been worn or washed. There is a bit of storage grime along the skirt hem in a few areas - see closeup.
I measure the outside of garments, unless stated otherwise.
For menswear, the chest is measured at armpit level.
For womenswear, the bust is measured a little below armpit level, including the room created by darts or gathers.
Waist will be measured if there is one, and hips are measured about 9" below waist level. Sleeves are measured from shoulder seam or an approximation in the absence of a shoulder seam. Garment length is measured from the back of the neck, unless otherwise stated.
The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
