40s Vintage Dress 50s Fit and Flare Coral Pink with Black Eyelet Lace Medium Women's VFG
This 1940s vintage dress is a charming combination of girlish and sophisticated. The bodice is styled with padded shoulders and a curvy vee neckline. Short sleeves are a bit wider than usual to show off the peekaboo inset bands of black eyelet. Diamond shaped insets shape the waist area front and back, along with an inset soft tie in front. There are multiple narrow darts for the bodice, and the skirt has 7 gores. A narrower band of black eyeley, ruffled this time, trims the hem.

FABRIC/COLORS: The color is vibrant shade of coral with black eyelet trim.The dress fabric is slubbed - medium weight with a dry hand and nice draping. Based on a fiber burn test, I think it is most likely a cotton/rayon blend.

CLOSURES: The dress opens completely in front, using twelve small clear red/pink plastic shank buttons. The top button has an opaque perly center - the other buttons may have There is an anchoring hook & eye at the waist, and a self fabric tie in front.
CONDITION: I have repaired a small open seam under the left arm. No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.

The measurement numbers refer to the garment, not the body inside. For best fit, measure a similar type of garment which fits you well and compare.
If the garment is shown on Josephine, my mannequin, her measurements are 31/24.5/34". Sometimes she wears a padded bra. My live models measurements vary depending on the day and year, and I don't ask them to share that.
