







80s Women's Coat by Ignacio Peri Vintage Boutique Cocoon Fish Large
- Description
This vintage cocoon coat is wearable art, so exuberantly 1980s! Padded shoulders, squared-off deepset sleeves, oversized notched lapels, inverted triangle (vee shaped) silhouette. Sleeve bottoms are lined in the striped print 6" deep, so can be cuffed to your preferred length. Clever placement of striping to create visual interest. Most fish have a small MOP “eye” stitched on.

FABRIC: The outer fabric is cotton, with nice body, almost like a lightweight canvas. It was hand blocked in India with a bold yet whimsical fish print. The yellow white and pale blue striped fish float float against a medium blue background with teal tinged green accents. Below the Below the fishy part of the print are slightly wavy horizontal stripes in the three shades of blue and green with a little white background peeking through. The coat is lined in sunny yellow acetate.

Ignacio Peri turned a graduate degree in geography into a career as a fashion designer and owner of Impromptu, a high style boutique and art gallery in Oakland California. He died in 1995 at age 55.
CLOSURES: Three large flat pearly buttons down the front – they’re either MOP or glass.
CONDITION: No stains, holes, tears or other issues seen.
