Women's Vintage 50s Dress Formal Prom Petal Bust Blue Net Full Skirt Long Small VFG

This fantastic vintage 1950s prom/fairy princess dress has all of the iconic 50s details you might ask for ! Boned strapless bodice with fold-down petal bust and detachable draped swag for back and shoulder interest. The full skirt has three layers of blue net over peach, for a shimmering effect. The innermost net layer is plain, the next layer has a gathered ruffle that starts around the knees, and the outermost layer is shorter, with a handkerchief hem and edged with a 2.5" double ruffle. The dress was photographed with a very full bridal crinoline underneath to give you an idea of the possibilities - the extra crinoline is not included with purchase .

FABRIC/COLORS: Bodice is done in iridescent taffeta. Bodice and net are pastel aqua. The skirt is three layers of nylon net over a crisp acetate type taffeta underskirt in pale peach. Bodice also lined in the peach

TAGS: No maker's tag, just a lot# sewn into the bodice and skirt

CLOSURES: Side seam metal zipper

CONDITION: Faint underarm discoloration that I didn't even notice until I handled the dress several times - the iridescence camouflages it. Several small tears to the net skirt, which is typical with these kinds of dresses - they have been repaired and you are unlikely to see them unless you look closely.
