40s Vintage Platter Hat Brown Women's Wide Brim by Sunnyland VFG New York Creation
A wonderful wide brim hat, most likely 1940s vintage. The crown is fairly flat, emphasized by the wide ribbon band with decorative folds in back. The broad brim has rolled edges. The hat has a black elastic cord that can be used to secure the hat on a windy day - usually worn under the hair in back.

MATERIALS/COLORS: Finely woven in a dark chestnut brown. I consulted with a VFG millinery expert, who felt it was most likely coated natural straw. The outer hat band is wide grosgrain ribbon.
