Women's 60s Dress Formal Prom GWTW Daisy Lace Vintage New Old Stock Yellow Small
- Description
A lovely vintage formal, mid 1960s, with more than a little Southern Belle flavor to it! Fitted bodice with scoop neck, short sleeves and empire waist accented by a velvet ribbon with bow and trailers in back. Long full skirt with 4 layers. Innermost layer is white nylon net, then lightweight yellow acetate. Over that, a layer of yellow net trimmed along the bottom 14" with 8 rows of crisp semisheer yellow ruffles. The outermost layer is daisy motif lace - the lace overskirt ends a little below the knee to show off the ruffles. The bodice is also covered in the lace as are the sleeves, with a puffy layer with a sheer lace cuff.

FABRIC/COLORS: Inner dress feels like acetate, sunshine/daffodil yellow. The lace layer is white with a motif of large daisies with dreamsicle-orange colored centers. No fabric content tag, but there is a dry clean only tag.

CLOSURES: Long nylon zipper in back
CONDITION: When I acquired the dress, I was told it was new old stock. I am not sure if the tag pictured is from the original retail store or not. Regardless, I do not see any signs of wear. The only flaw I see on inspection is that the thread loop for the hook at the back of the neck is gone, and there is some minor tearing in the lace where it used to be - see close-up.
